FAQ

1. Do I have to plant a RICE partnered church?
No. Our commitment is to seeing the planting of church planting churches across our city, nation and world. We want to partner with and equip church planters who share this vision.

2. What does RICE en:trust hope to achieve in the long term?
In the long term en:trust is seeking to see the raising and equipping of thousands of church planters who will plant church planting churches in  our city, across our nation and internationally, whether this is done within a denomination or independently.

3. How are applicants to be part of the 30 church planters coached with RICE en:trust in 2010 determined?
Applications are assessed by a RICE panel of church planters/pastors based on the applicants theological understanding, spiritual maturity, ministry and leadership experience, entrepreneurial ability, and when they would be looking to church plant whether within Sydney or outside Sydney.

4. If I don’t apply this time round, will there be another opportunity for another group of church planters to be coached in 2011?
At this stage we cannot guarantee that, but will consider this depending on our resources.

5. If my application is not accepted to be part of the 30 church planters in partnership with RICE en:trust, is there a place for me?
Yes. We continue to be committed to you, and will be holding several other equipping events next year open to all church planters, but not one with our international panel of coaches/trainers.

6. How will the coaching sessions be run in 2010 with the international panel of coaches/trainers?
The coaching sessions will be conducted as a group of 30, over 2 hours in a live video chat session with the opportunity to dialogue and ask questions of the coach/trainer.

7. What areas are being covered in the coaching sessions in 2010?
The coaching areas we are looking to cover with the group of 30 church planters include:
o     What is the place of the Gospel in church planting and in the life of the church planter?
o     What is a missional framework for church planting that’s Biblical and Gospel centered?
o     What is the role of a church planter in leading a church plant?
o     How do you set vision and plan as a church planter?
o     How do you plant a church? What does it take to plant a church?
o     How do you prepare and lead members of your core church planting team?
o     How do you grow a missional church community?
o     How do you grow a church planting church?
o     How do you develop a church community of small groups with real Christian fellowship?
o     What part does corporate worship play in a new church plant?
o     How do you develop corporate worship that is missional?
